Drum Solo Choreography ($40) (3hrs) by ISIS SAN MIGUEL (FL)
10a.m. – 1p.m. on Saturday 4/28/12
The Drum Solo – technique and choreography: Learn to build isolations from the dancers existing skill level while increasing interest and dynamics. Great way to challenge the dancer to see what else can be done with drum solo rhythms!
Demystifying the Veil ($20) (2hrs) by YASMINA (AZ)
2p.m. – 4p.m. on Saturday 4/28/12
A silky veil, floating gracefully around a whirling dancer is a special light and airy vision. The veil allows a dancer to be so creative in her dance and gives her the opportunity to show so much emotion. Class is geared to students of all levels. Learn arm position, veil concepts, veil drapes, veil tricks and more for single veil. You will need a rectangle or circular veil for class.
If you don’t have a veil, student veils will be available to use during the workshop.
Costuming on a Budget ($20) (2hrs) by JANIE MIDGELY (NV)
2p.m. – 4p.m. on Saturday 4/28/12
Need a Belly Dance costume, but do not have the hundreds of dollars to buy one — make it! Learn the tricks of using odd items to make great costumes, like earrings from a cigarette case. Learn to take Thrift Store, Flea Market, and Yard Sale items and turn them into fabulous costume pieces. The joy of making your own costume is it fits you and fits your style too.
I come from the time in Belly Dance, before venders brought a cornucopia of choices to Belly Dance events. 35 + years ago you made your own costumes or you had them made. Learn some of my tricks.
I will bring lots of examples and a hand out. Also my book of the same name will be on sale.

See, Say, Play! A practical approach to learning basic cymbal pattern on top of combos that progress from easy to challenging.
Building a Belly Dance Wardrobe ($20) (2hrs) by JANIE MIDGELY (NV)

Created to answer the question “Where do I start?” It also explains the basic pieces, as well as how to make many of them. And where to buy them.
Tribal Asian Fusion ($20) (2hrs) by YASMINA (AZ)
1:30p.m. – 3:30p.m. Sunday 4/29/12
In this workshop we will explore many dance styles by fusing them together to create a fun dance. The core of the dance will be American tribal belly dance moves fused with Asian influenced styling’s, Indian Mudras (hand movements) and Thai nails to spice up the dance and really give the dance that Asian flare. Thai nails will be available for purchase at the workshop.
